The 10-5 Cardinals head to Dallas to take on the 11-4 Cowboys
Cardinals vs Cowboys Preview
The Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys are two teams on different paths heading into the playoffs. Dallas is on a four-game win streak, and they have a three-game lead over the Philadelphia Eagles for the NFC East. Arizona has lost three consecutive games, conceding their lead in the NFC West to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday.
The Cardinals are in the midst of losing 4 straight with a trip to Dallas to play a tough Cowboys team. The Cowboys defense has been one of the best in the NFL, lead by Trevon Diggs who leads the league in interceptions (11). The defensive line has also caused opponents troubles this season, led by standout rookie Micah Parsons. Parsons has an impressive 13 sacks on the year.
Arizona has been in an offensive funk over the last couple weeks, with Kyler Murray having to find different ways to get his teammates involved. The “run-and-gun” has worked well for the Cardinals but has seen regression during the losing streak. Penalties have been drive killers for the Arizona’s offense but also the level of competition has been harder during the back-half of the season.
This season can not go by without an unfortunate mention of Covid-19. Teams all over the league have been suffering players around and Arizona have some big holes due to missing key starters. Running back James Conner, wide receiver Rondale Moore, and defensive lineman Jordan Phillips are all looking to come back off the Covid list.
The Cowboys have been able to avoid significant COVID-19 issues this season. They’ve had positive cases, but they have not had the kind of outbreak that has decimated teams like the Ravens and Saints. Covid will be a storyline has we head into the playoffs, hopefully teams will be able to survive having key players out in critical games.
