Charlotte lost 59-8 to Memphis last Saturday and has allowed 40.6 points a game this season, the third-most among the 138 FBS teams. North Texas scores 40.6 a game, 18th in the FBS, while Charlotte has scored 9, 21, 7, and 8 against its four FBS opponents,  averaging 11.3 a game, and lost those games by 32, 5, 2, 7, and 51. I was against North Texas in its 44-6 win over UNLV on September 12 and had it at Tulsa last week, a 45-44 overtime game that pushed. Charlotte’s best output against an FBS team this season is 21 points, and North Texas has scored 35 or more in four of its five games. Charlotte is 0-5 and would have to win six of its last seven games, including this one, to finish with six wins. Oregon State has won its last three games by a combined 141-50 and scores 37 a game, 33rd in the FBS. San Diego State allows 28.8 a game, and in each of its three losses it scored 16 or fewer. Its 31-29 win over Texas State on October 3 is the most it has scored against an FBS opponent this season. Oregon State opened the season with losses to Houston and Texas Tech, 33-20 and 35-24, and has not lost since. Hawaii is 1-4 and has scored 17 or fewer points in three of its five games, 17.6 a game over all five. Arizona State allows 31.8 a game, 20th-most among the 138 FBS teams, and Texas A&M and Baylor put up 48 and 55 on it. Those are the most either team has scored against an FBS opponent this season, and Hawaii’s high is 29 against New Mexico State. Arizona State is 2-2 after a 55-19 loss to Baylor on October 3 and a 24-17 win over Kansas in its other FBS game. Hawaii would need to win five of its last seven games, including this one, to reach six wins. The Mean Green are -2400 the Beavers are -614, and the Sun Devils are -1329, so none of them is worth laying alone for what it returns. Combined into one ticket, they pay -331, and 1 unit returns 1.3 units, including the stake. Each team has to win today. Neither has to cover a number.
