Vegas lost 3-2 in a shootout at Boston on Monday, then won 3-2 at Pittsburgh on Tuesday when Tomas Hertl scored his second power-play goal of the night in the final minute. Tuesday's win was only the second in Pittsburgh in franchise history. The Golden Knights killed all six Penguins power plays, including a 5-on-3 that lasted 1:22. They allowed two goals in regulation at both stops. Vegas scored two goals in regulation at Boston and three at Pittsburgh, and that output was enough for a point and a win. The win followed a 1-3-2 stretch over the six games before Tuesday. Vegas is 10-5-2, a .647 points percentage, and 4-2-2 on the road. Our bankroll needs Vegas to win a little more than four games in seven at this price. Detroit is 7-6-3, a .531 points percentage, with 46 goals scored and 48 allowed through 16 games. That is a goal differential of minus-2, against plus-9 for Vegas through 17. The Red Wings are 6-3-1 over their last 10 games. They score 2.9 goals a game, and they put 21 shots on Andrei Vasilevskiy at Tampa Bay on Tuesday for two goals. They went 1-for-4 on the power play, and Vasilevskiy denied Lucas Raymond and Viktor Arvidsson in close after J.T. Compher's goal. A team scoring at that rate is chasing the game once it trails. Vegas held Boston and Pittsburgh to two goals each in regulation, so I expect the Golden Knights to win this one low. I'm laying the price with Vegas as my NHL Game of the Week and also taking the UNDER tonight.
