Tampa Bay came from behind to beat Vancouver 4-2 on Saturday, its sixth win in its last seven games, and both losses this season came against the Rangers. Before that, it beat Seattle 4-3 in overtime on Thursday. The Lightning rank fourth-best in the league in shots allowed at 23.0 a game, and they allow 2.63 goals a game, ninth-best. Vegas is 8-2, scores 4.10 goals a game, third in the league, and its power play converts at 27.78%, fifth. Tampa Bay's penalty kill is 22nd at 75%. Vegas's last two games were 6-2 wins over Calgary and Pittsburgh, now 3-5-1. It needed overtime to beat winless Los Angeles on October 10 and lost 3-1 at Minnesota two days later. Opponents have outshot Vegas in three of its ten games, and it went 2-1 in them. Only two clubs take more shots than Tampa Bay's 30.9 a game, and that volume is why I'm on the Lightning tonight.
