New York at Carolina

Carolina comes off a disappointing season, but the Hurricanes have overhauled the team and organization with a new owner, general manager and coach. Also, the Hurricanes obtained goalie Petr Mrazek after Scott Darling endured a rough season. Mrazek will be in goal tonight and he played in 39 games with Detroit and Philadelphia in 2017-18 with a combined 14-13 record. The Hurricanes also added Dougie Hamilton and Calvin de Haan to help out defensemen Jaccob Slavin and Brett Pesce. New York ranked last in goals against last season and now it has lost John Tavares to free agency so things don't look too promising for the Islanders at this point. Goalie Jaroslav Halak is gone and Thomas Greiss will be in goal tonight and he will share duties with Robin Lehner this season. Greiss had a 3.82 goals-against average average in 2017-18 and the Isles hope he can regain his form from the 2016-17 season. The Islanders finished the season losing eight of its last 11 road games and 16 of its last 22 overall. Take the Hurricanes.
