2 units on Game Total OVER PICK (risk 2 to return 2) RESULT: WIN
Very few people expected Cam Newton would make such a huge and immediate impact in the NFL, including myself. He single handedly has transformed the worst offense in the league a year ago. Last season the Panthers averaged 12 points per game but this season they are generating 418 yards per game and ranks No. 5 in the league. Newton alone has outgained the entire offense of the Redskins. Those numbers have meant 10 more points per game for the Panthers this season. So why aren't they winning games? Unfortunately, as improved as they are on offense, teams are scoring even more against them this year. Carolina has allowed four or more TDs in five of their six games this season. All of that sets up another high-scoring game here. Washington, like everyone else, will get into the end zone plenty here despite a mediocre offense. Despite the Redskins having a better-than-average defense, Carolina will find ways to score as they have all season. The Skins’ defense is a little looser on the road and it has led them to a 4-1 mark to the OVER in their last five, and the Panthers have played just three UNDERs in their last 12 games following a straight-up loss. This one tops the total.
