After two straight home games, getting out of the new (and bad) San Francisco stadium turf will help the 49ers, who have plenty to work on. The 49ers running back LaMichael James will play again (he was expected to be out the whole preseason) and backup QB Blaine Gabbert still has plenty to prove. They face a Houston starting defense that was good last week, but the depth is a major concern as the backups were awful. Even in the 18-17 win at Denver, Houston surrendered 399 yards and the run defense allowed 127 rush yards, 5.3 yards per carry. That plays to San Francisco's strength. Houston won't risk QB Ryan Fitzpatrick much, and backups Case Keenum and Tom Savage are raw. Houston couldn't get its ground game going either, with 79 yards against Denver at just 3.4 ypc. Take the 49ers.
