Miami at New York

Miami comes out of its bye at 0-5 and has not run a single offensive snap while leading this season. Malik Willis has taken all 293 of Miami's offensive snaps, and the Dolphins have scored 70 points, 31st in the NFL. The two most recent losses, 15-10 at Minnesota and 31-24 to Cincinnati, were the closest of the five, and Miami ran for 217 yards against the Bengals. That ground game is ninth in the league at 126.6 yards per game, while the passing offense is 31st at 169.8. Miami's scoring margin is minus 62 over five games. New York is 2-4 with a margin of minus 10, 112 points scored and 122 allowed. Its wins came over Tennessee, 23-10, and Cleveland, 17-12. I went through the Jets' game log looking for a lopsided win, and the largest is 13 points. Its four losses came by 3 in overtime, 7, 11, and 7. The Jets have scored 19 or fewer points in four of six games, and they have not topped 24 in any of them. Breece Hall has missed the last three games and is questionable, and Braelon Allen has carried 74 times for 314 yards in his absence. Miami had two weeks to prepare for this one, while the Jets played at New England last Sunday and lost 26-19. It is also Miami's first AFC East game of the year. Two units on a winless team is a heavy stake for our bankroll, and we get paid for it by a rested side facing an offense that has not topped 24. Miami comes in rested against a Jets offense that has been held to 19 or fewer in four of six games, and I'm taking the Dolphins on the spread as my NFL Game of the Week.
