WIN

An interesting battle is taking shape in Houston as a pair of teams starved for good seasons collide. The Texans look to take over the top spot in the AFC South. With a win they would move to 4-1 and be well on their way. The Raiders, a team that has shown a lot of promise early on, are in a pivotal game at 2-2 and can make a statement with a big road win. The Texans could be in for a flop, as they are coming off a big game vs. New Orleans two weeks ago and a physical, emotional win here last week over the Steelers. It's hard to bring peak intensity three games in a row. Oakland lost to New England on the scoreboard last week, but they have to feel good about out-gaining the lethal Patriots offense by nearly 100 yards, despite two fewer possessions (-2 in turnovers). If the Raiders can come out even or positive in the turnover battle, they will be in this one to win it late, making the points big. Oakland's offense is putting up over 400 yards and 28 points per game. The Raiders are amongst the best bounce-back teams in the league lately as they are a highly-desirable 12-2 ATS following an ATS loss and a perfect 5-0 ATS after a straight-up loss. On the other side, the Texans are just 4-10-2 ATS off an ATS win. They are also just 1-8 ATS the past three seasons when facing elite offensive teams (those averaging 5.7+ yards per play). And, under Gary Kubiak, this team is 0-7 ATS vs. teams that allow 27+ points per game. Take Oakland in this one.
