Arizona is starting over in every way that matters: a brand-new coaching staff under Mike LaFleur, hired away from the Rams, and a completely reshuffled quarterback room after cutting Kyler Murray loose after seven seasons as the starter. That kind of reset usually brings growing pains, and Arizona is coming off a 3-14 season, ending with a nine-game losing streak, so the gap on paper is real and worth respecting. But the Chargers enter this one without full continuity either. Jim Harbaugh is back, and Justin Herbert remains the engine, but both coordinators are new, with Mike McDaniel now calling the offense after Greg Roman was let go. A double-digit favorite breaking in a new play-caller still has to execute cleanly against a team with nothing left to lose, and double digits is a lot of ground to cover twice over in a season opener.
