Los Angeles at Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City has won both games this season by the same margin, 116-104 at San Antonio on Tuesday and 96-84 over Denver on Thursday. The Thunder went 64-18 last year and reached the Western Conference Finals. The Clippers finished 42-40 and then traded Kawhi Leonard to Toronto. Los Angeles still opened by routing Sacramento 121-96 on Wednesday, with Darius Garland scoring 30. On Friday the Clippers lost 125-117 at the Lakers, with Garland adding 26. That game was tied 64-64 at halftime, and the Clippers committed 26 turnovers in it. Those giveaways fed a Lakers offense that scored 125 and pushed the game to 242 combined points. The Clippers' opener ended at 217 combined, and Oklahoma City's two games finished at 220 and 180. I see no sign yet that the Thunder need to win big. Their defense has done the work in both games, while their offense scored 116 against San Antonio and only 96 against Denver. A Clippers team that keeps the ball secure goes into the second half of this game still within reach of a Thunder club that has not pulled away from anyone.
