Golden State at Los Angeles

Golden State opens its season tonight without Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, Kristaps Porziņģis and Brandin Podziemski. Podziemski was a surprise scratch with back soreness, and he averaged 13.8 points last season. Stephen Curry is probable after twisting his right ankle in practice Sunday, and his minutes could be watched. He played only 43 games last year and averaged 26.6 points in them. Last year's Warriors went 37-45 and shot 35.6% from three, and that was with Butler for part of the season. Now the shots have to come through Curry, Draymond Green and role players like Brandon Williams and Georges Niang. The Lakers open a season without LeBron James for the first time in years, and Luka Dončić is healthy. Walker Kessler, the new center, was cleared after a finger issue and gives Los Angeles size that Golden State cannot match with Porziņģis out. I expect Steve Kerr to pull Curry early if the Lakers get clear, which takes Golden State's best shooter off the floor. Opening night is the least settled night of the schedule for rotations and chemistry. I'm on the UNDER tonight.
