The Royals' pitching has been fantastic, but the offense continues to hold them back. They managed just five total runs in that series vs New York. The Athletics, on the season, as a road dog, have gone from +125 to +175 and are 9-5 to the under. Kansas City has dropped six games back in the AL Central by losing eight of 10 and four of its past six games have gone UNDER. Oakland is 19-12 UNDER its past 31 games. Mitch Spence has made one appearance against the Royals this year and gave up a run on five hits in 4 2/3 innings. The Royals have lost two of Seth Lugo's past three starts and he has allowed 11 runs on 20 hits in 19 innings. The Kansas City Royals and Oakland A's had something in common last season. They both lost well over 100 games. Things have not changed much for Oakland who enters this game at 27-48. Oakland won last night snapping a nine game losing streak, and I think they may feel relieved of the pressure and not be nearly as ready tonight. The Royals are off four huge series, as they just finished with the Dodgers, Yankees, Seattle, and Cleveland.
