The Utah Utes did a lot of growing up last week, taking to the road and beating the Pittsburgh Panthers rather soundly. It didn't start to well for the Utes, falling behind 14-3 early on a 98-yard kickoff return and a blocked punt that was also returned for a TD. They could have easily folded, but they bowed their backs and scored 23 unanswered points while holding the Panthers to a grand total of 120 yards of offense. The Panthers’ star running back, Ray Graham, generated just 46 yards. Cal has had trouble moving the ball against good defenses, generating just 9 points at home last week vs. USC and just 15 vs. Oregon. Zach Maynard has had some problems completing just 52% of his passes with six INTs on the season. The Utes are confident off a big effort last week, and have historically been a good choice as a road dog where they are 29-10-1 ATS in their last 40. Meanwhile, Cal folds in expected close games having gone just 14033 ATS in their last 47 games with a line of +3 to -3. That includes a 5-19 ATS mark in that situation in the Jeff Tedford era! This dog has some bark, so I'm going with Utah.
