UNLV vs. Ohio

UNLV had another successful season by most standards, but the Rebels once again failed to beat Boise State to win the Mountain West championship. That leaves their motivation in question for this game against a Mid-American Conference team that already had a fine showing, as Western Michigan destroyed Kennesaw State in the Myrtle Beach Bowl on Friday. Ohio won five of its last six games, and the Bobcats are 7-2-1 ATS in their past 10 December games and 5-2-1 ATS in their past eight bowl games. UNLV is 1-5 ATS in its past six against teams with winning records. Ohio's head coach, Brian Smith, was ousted due to a disciplinary matter, and defensive coordinator John Hauser will serve as interim coach. The Bobcats feature QB Parker Navarro, who has 2,232 passing yards and 14 TDs, and running back Sieh Bangura, who has totaled 1,243 yards on 5.6 per carry. Chase Hendricks has 67 catches for 950 yards. UNLV's defense improved since the early season, but it was the culprit again as Boise State accumulated 460 yards of offense in the MWC championship game.
