WIN

Alabama Birmingham has improved down the stretch, even upsetting Central Florida three weeks ago 26-24, with 501 yards as sophomore QB Jon Perry threw for 327 yards. They should have pulled the upset of Troy, blowing a 23-14 fourth quarter lead. The defense has new defensive coordinator Tommy West and he spent nine years coaching this Memphis team. West took Memphis to five bowl games and believes that the administration never fully supported the program. Reports are that he really wants this game. Memphis is worse without him, getting whipped by a 35-14 average. They have no offense (No. 92 in the nation in passing, No. 119 in rushing with just 82.8 yards per game) and no defense. Their only wins were against a Tulane team in disarray and a 27-6 win over Austin Peay. They come off a 41-0 loss to Central Florida - the same team UAB beat. In a 38-31 loss to Middle Tennessee of the Sun Belt, they allowed 477 yards (200 rushing) and had a 28-6 loss at defenseless Rice with just 70 yards rushing while turning it over three times. Even in the win over Tulane they got outgained 459-289! The Tigers have dropped 17 of 18 C-USA games and 16 of their last 18 overall. The Tigers won only one game last season and are 10-23-1 ATS in their last 34 games overall. They are also just 9-21 ATS the past three seasons as an underdog. Meanwhile, UAB is 14-5 ATS under head coach Neil Callaway when coming off back-to-back losses. Play on UAB here.
