Troy at James Madison

James Madison is the class of the Sun Belt Conference again, heavily favored to win the title game for the third time in four years. The 11-1 Dukes should be even bigger favorites than this against Troy. Sparked by dual-threat quarterback Alonza Barrett III, the Dukes average 41.3 points a game. That is eighth-best in the nation. Troy, by contrast, is 83rd in scoring and 110th in yards per game. The Trojans surrender 26.1 points and rank 100th in run defense. James Madison is equally as good on defense as it is on offense. The Dukes give up 17.5 points a game and rank in the top six in run defense and total defense. Troy has trouble running the ball and pass-protecting. Troy was shut out, 33-0, by Old Dominion. James Madison defeated Old Dominion, 63-27. The Dukes want to make a statement by steamrolling Troy, knowing they have a chance to make the college football playoffs if they beat Virginia in the ACC title game. Take James Madison.
