Tennessee at Kentucky

Tennessee just played three outstanding defenses and now catches a break against Kentucky. The Vols opened the year 3-1 and could have been 4-0, allowing a TD on the final play to Florida in a 26-20 defeat as a +6.5 dog. Tennessee is 38-21 ATS after two or more consecutive losses against the spread. Kentucky (2-5 ATS) is favored, but 0-3 ATS this season as chalk. They were 10-point chalk against Southern Miss and won 24-17, 33-point favorites over Eastern Kentucky and won 27-16, and two weeks ago an 8.5 favorite over Missouri and had to hang for for a 40-34 win. Kentucky comes off a 45-7 loss to Mississippi State as its run defense was shredded for 282 yards. Kentucky is 5-11 ATS against losing teams, 3-8 ATS following a straight up loss. The Wildcats' offense is #113 in the nation in total yards, #93 in points, while the defense is #70 in yards allowed, #114 against the pass. The Volunteers have won 31 of the past 32 meetings with the Wildcats since 1985. That included a 49-36 victory last season and a 52-21 win at Kentucky two years ago, part of an 8-2 spread run against the Cats. Play Tennessee.
