Southern Miss at Louisiana Tech

Charles Huff left Marshall to become head coach at Southern Miss and brought with him QB Braylon Braxton, the 2024 Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year. They have given new life to a program that has been floundering for years. The Eagles have won and covered two straight after falling to Mississippi State in their season opener, including 38-22 over Appalachian State last week. Braxton went 22-for-30 for 279 yards and two TDs with one interception. Louisiana Tech is 2-1 after beating New Mexico State 49-14, but the Bulldogs are 0-4 ATS in their past four games following a victory in which they scored more than 40 points. They totaled 369 yards rushing against the Aggies. Blake Baker and Trey Kukuk combined for just 12 of 20 for 239 yards and two TDs with an interception. Southern Miss has covered four of five against C-USA opponents. Louisiana Tech has lost 13 of its past 20 games outright and five of its seven September games.
