Result:
LOSS

Marshall has dominated Conference USA the past two seasons (14–2 in league play), but steps up to play the Big 10 here. And with the loss of four-year starting QB Rakeem Cato, the Herd will suffer some growing pains on offense. The UNDER is 4-1 in the Thundering Herd’s last five games on fieldturf. Purdue is in town with a weak offense as Coach Darrell Hazell begins his third season. The 2014 offense averaged just 23.8 points (98th in the nation), 187.4 yards passing (103rd), and 157 yards rushing ranked just 73rd. They also don't know who should be quarterback with junior QB Danny Etling (6 TDs, 5 INTs, 800 yards, 55% completions) back with junior Austin Appleby (10 TDs, 11 INTs yards, 53%), and sophomore QB David Blough. At least the Boilermakers' defense will be better with safety Frankie Williams, who should be in contention for All-Big Ten honors, and the linebacking corps features promising sophomores in Ja’Whaun Bentley and Danny Ezechukwu. Play this one UNDER the total.
