Oklahoma at Michigan

Oklahoma didn't need much time against UTEP, riding a shutout to a 51-0 win in its opener and coming in ranked in the top fifteen nationally. Michigan's own opener was far less convincing: a 13-12 win over Western Michigan that barely cleared a MAC opponent. Neither result points to a track meet here. A team fresh off a shutout carrying a modest posted total into its next game is a pattern I trust, and Michigan's offense managing only thirteen points against a MAC defense doesn't inspire confidence that it suddenly finds another gear against a ranked, complete Oklahoma defense. Oklahoma's own offense profiles to control the ball and protect a lead on the road rather than air it out against a Big Ten defense that held up well enough to escape with a one-score win last week. Both sides have every incentive to play a clean, ball-control game rather than a shootout, and the posted total hasn't adjusted for either offense's actual output through one week. This is the number to attack today, and I don't expect it to get particularly close. Bet the UNDER.
