NC State at Notre Dame

After losing to second-ranked Miami and fifth-ranked Texas A&M by a combined four points to open the season, Notre Dame has come on to beat Purdue, Arkansas, and Boise State by an average margin of 33.3 points, going 2-0-1 ATS. Redshirt freshman quarterback CJ Carr hasn't thrown an interception in 14 quarters as he gets more comfortable running the Fighting Irish's offense. Carr can rely on one of the best running back tandems in the country with Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, who together combine to average 6.9 yards per carry. North Carolina State opened impressively with victories against East Carolina, Wake Forest, and Virginia. Quarterback CJ Bailey and running back Hollywood Smothers are two of the better players in the ACC, but overall, the Wolfpack can't hang with Notre Dame. The Wolfpack followed up their 3-0 start with a 45-33 road defeat to Duke and a bad 23-21 home loss to Virginia Tech as 10-point favorites. The Wolfpack had a home layup against FCS opponent Campbell last week, but now they step way up in class. Notre Dame has a high ceiling and can't afford a flat performance.
