Michigan vs. Texas

img3:00 PM Eastern

Michigan just endured a tumultuous month as Sherrone Moore was fired for cause and Kyle Whittingham was hired as the new head coach, although he'll be a spectator at the Citrus Bowl as associate head coach Biff Poggi will be the interim coach for the game. The Wolverines lost to Oklahoma, USC, and Ohio State, who were arguably the toughest teams on their schedule, while feasting on the weaker opponents. Texas is in the formidable category, having won six of its past seven and just missing the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns are #25 in the FBS in points allowed (19.8 per game) and #9 against the rush (98.1 ypg). However, that wasn't enough for defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski to keep his job as Steve Sarkisian dumped him for his personal favorite, Will Muschamp, before the Citrus Bowl. Co-defensive coordinator  Johnny Nansen will handle this game. The Longhorns come off a 27-17 win over Texas A&M with Arch Manning throwing for 179 yards and a TD with no interceptions. Michigan freshman QB Bryce Underwood struggled mightily against Ohio State, completing only eight of 18 for 63 yards and no TDs with one interception. Take Texas on the moneyline.
