Both Miami and Ohio State are strong in the trenches. But why Ohio State should beat the Hurricanes by double-digits in the Cotton Bowl is a massive edge in skill position talent, particularly at wide receiver. Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate are the best wide receiver tandem in the country. Miami's rebuilt secondary hasn't encountered this type of wide receiver explosiveness in the ACC, which had a down season. Expect the Buckeyes to open up their attack now that the playoffs have begun, after they went ultra-conservative against Indiana in the Big Ten Championship Game, losing 13-10. It was almost like Ohio State coach Ryan Day didn't want to show his full cards against the Hoosiers. That was the Buckeyes' first loss of the season in 13 games. They are 10-2-1 ATS. Miami is 11-2, 8-5 ATS, with losses to SMU and Louisville. The Hurricanes were double-digit favorites against each of those opponents. There is a class difference here. The point spread is warranted. Take Ohio State.
