Miami Florida vs. Mississippi

January 8, 2026
img7:30 PM Eastern

Mississippi QB Trinidad Chambliss has thrown for 644 yards and three TDs with no interceptions in the first two College Football Playoff games against Tulane and Georgia. However, he is now up against a Miami defense, led by Reuben Bain and Akheem Mesidor, which just held two powerhouses, Texas A&M and Ohio State, to a combined 17 points. The Hurricanes sacked Aggies QB Marcel Reed seven times, and they recorded five sacks against the Buckeyes while holding them to 45 rushing yards. Miami has won four of its past five against SEC opponents. The Hurricanes have won six in a row while allowing 9.7 points per game. Miami QB Carson Beck has thrown for 3,313 yards and 27 TDs with 10 interceptions this season. He has been an excellent game manager in the first two playoff games, completing 33 of 46 passes for 241 yards and two TDs with no interceptions. Beck has plenty of experience in these situations after four years at Georgia, the last two as a starter. Mark Fletcher Jr. has 287 all-purpose yards in the past two games, and wide receiver Malachi Toney has 94 catches for 1,008 yards and eight TDs this season for Miami, which is no slouch on the offensive side. Mississippi has the lowest-rated defense of the four playoff teams. Take Miami on the moneyline.
