Georgia Southern at Auburn

Georgia Southern has a long identity of running a Military Academy style offense out of the wish-bone, or modern day flex-bone. Last year head coach Tysun Summers decided to spread things out and finished 5-7 with a team that was thought to be much better. Bryan Cook will take over, and he worked under Paul Johnson the last four years at Georgia Tech, so the option attack will be open for business again for the Eagles. This is a clock-eating offense that runs the ball 85%+ of the time. Auburn will be breaking in both a new coach and new offensive coordinator. The Tigers have perhaps the best pair of returning backs in the country, so they are going to do a lot of running. I think the Auburn defense is going to take a step back this year, and that should allow Georgia Southern to sustain enough drives to control a game tempo that should see 100 rushing plays or more from both sides combined.
