Pittsburgh's offense sputtered last year until the Sports Bowl in Detroit when the Panthers lost 48-46 in six overtimes against Toledo. Their offense looks promising after last week's 61-9 dismantling of Duquesne, although an FCS school. The Panthers racked up 460 yards of offense and Eli Holstein threw for 215 yards and four TDs with one interception. Twelve different players caught at least one pass and Desmond Reid ran for 66 yards on eight carries. Pitt faces a tougher test this week, but it has covered the spread nine of 11 home games and six of nine as a favorite. The Panthers are 5-0 OVER against the MAC and they are 13-3 OVER their past 16 September games. Central Michigan is 0-4-1 ATS its past five September games and 1-5 ATS overall in week 2. The Chippewas did beat San Jose State 16-14, but they are on a 1-6 ATS run in the second of back-to-back road games. Pitt is 5-1 ATS their past six non-conference games and Central Michigan is 0-4 ATS after totaling more than 200 yards rushing its previous game. CMU is 5-1-1 OVER following an ATS win. Take Pittsburgh and the OVER.
