Boston College at Michigan State

Boston College had an easy opener, routing Fordham. They have a new quarterback in sophomore Dylan Lonergan. Of concern is that the ground game averaged just 2.5 yards per rush against a Fordham squad that was 2-10 in 2024. The offensive line lost three starters from a year ago. Michigan State also has a revamped offensive line behind erratic junior QB Aidan Chiles, who had 13 TDs and 11 interceptions last year. The Spartans come off a 23-6 win over Western Michigan. The defense is strong up the middle, giving up 29 yards rushing on 24 carries in the opener. This will be a physical game in the trenches, just like last year when Boston College won, 23-19. There were a total of five turnovers, and MSU ran for 3.8 yards per carry, while BC ran for 3.5 yards per carry. Michigan State is on an 11-7 run UNDER the total, including 6-2 UNDER at home.
