Akron at Nebraska

The Akron Zips have won just 11 football games since the start of the 2019 season, and they need to get their offense in gear. Akron scored 38 points against Kent State late last year and 21 points against Toledo, averaging 25.7 points in the final six games, but they'll face a difficult challenge here against the Cornhuskers. Nebraska edged Cincinnati last weekend, scoring a last-minute touchdown to win 20-17. It was a good win for this squad in Week 1, and they'll look to play a much more up-tempo offense here at home. Nebraska games averaged 43 total points per game last season, and that's earned us a low total for this one, but the Huskers also scored 40, 28, and 34 points in their first three home games of 2024. They held the football for nearly 40 minutes last week, converting 10 of 18 (56%) third downs, and this unit should be ready to roll. CFB teams off a tight, low-scoring games have played OVER at a rate of 73% the past 25 years when the number is 49 points or less, and I'm grabbing the value on this low total.
