Longwood opened Monday with a 56-point win over Division III Pfeiffer, while Saint Joseph's has yet to play a game this season. Both rosters are largely rebuilt. The Lancers have five players back and ten new arrivals, and the Hawks return two starters. Last season's figures still show how each club is built, and I see Longwood's offense as the part that travels. The Lancers scored 77.7 points per game, 128th in college basketball. They shot 45.9% from the field, 5.1 percentage points above the 40.8% the Hawks allowed their opponents. Longwood also ranked 35th in offensive rebounding, against Saint Joseph's 81st. The roster now carries two 6-foot-10 forwards in Domas Kauzonas and Lazar Milosevic, which keeps that second-chance volume in play. Longwood allowed 74.1 points per game last season, 186th in the country, and the Hawks gave up 70.3. Saint Joseph's has no game film on this lineup, and a team playing its opener is still sorting out who plays together. A Lancers team with a game already under its belt and an offense that finished that efficiently should stay inside the number. Our bankroll needs Longwood to cover a little more than half the time here. Give me Longwood with the points tonight.
