Toronto came into the week hot, winning back-to-back, but the Tempo are limping into this one on a rough turnaround. They needed overtime to outlast Connecticut on Wednesday, a 106-102 grind that leaned almost entirely on Brittney Sykes, who is carrying the offense by herself with Kiki Rice sidelined. Now they fly to Washington on a single day of rest, and this defense has been a different animal away from home, where its numbers fall off a cliff. The Mystics, by contrast, have sat idle for several days, well-rested and stewing on a narrow home loss to Indiana. They already handled this group once, taking the only prior meeting, and they have covered the number in most of their home dates, even while scuffling overall. A fresh, rested home team against a tired, shorthanded road side that struggles to get stops as a visitor is the kind of spot the number undersells. Side with Washington to cover at home tonight.
