Phoenix at New York

Diana Turasi continues to pump in the points, rejoining the Mercury on May 20th. She has now become the all-time leading scorer in WNBA history, and is on the verge of her 8000th career point. her 29 points helped the Mercury beat Minnesota her last time out. Combine those efforts with Britney Griner in the post and the Mercury have had things rolling, scoring 95 points or better in two of their last three. While the offense has been immense, the defense has been highly suspect, allowing an average of 80+ points per game on the season, with little wonder why five of their first seven have played OVER the total. New York has scored 87 points or more in their last two games, but have also allowed 80+ ppg on the season, and it sure looks like the offense will be in charge for both teams today. The Mercury is much better equipped to win a shootout vs. the Liberty, as the last four times they played in New York the Mercury has topped the 100 point mark in two of them, and each of the last four here have eclipsed the total, with New York reaching 88 points or more in all four, but I look for Phoenix to take over the game late, and will play Phoenix and the OVER.
