New York at Washington

The New York Liberty feel like they have what it takes to find their way to the WNBA Championship series. That is because they now have one of the top centers in the lesgue in Tina Charles who is a double-double machine and they have the complimentary players to make a run. The Liberty are just 2-2 but both losses were against a pair of teams that have combined to lose just one game, and that was against each other. Washington has not found a complimentary scorer to go with Ivory Latta, who is the only player on the Mystics that is a double-digit scorer. That hurts them as they tend to suffer offensive droughts during games, and it makes them too easy of a team to defend, putting a lot of pressure on Latta to score. Right now the Liberty have more movable working pieces and a big obstacle in the middle. Play on New York. Also take the first-half OVER. After a 50 point first-half last game for Washington, I expect a regression back to a higher-scoring first-half in this game. New York has allowed an average of 39 points in the first-half their last three games and prior to last game's anomoly, Washington averaged 37 allowed per game in the first-half.
