New York at Indiana

Caitlin Clark (back) is probable tonight, and with no minutes restriction in place, that changes the math on this number more than the injury report lets on. Indiana's offense already ranks just seventh in the league even with Clark and Kelsey Mitchell combining for close to 46 points a night between them, which tells you how thin this roster gets once you move past its two go-to scorers. The Fever also lost Damiris Dantas for the season to a knee injury and just shuffled Makayla Timpson into the starting frontcourt, so this isn't a team running its top rotation from a month ago. New York has been the more complete team down the stretch of the summer, playing its best basketball of the season in August, and Indiana's defense, a legitimate top-five unit, is the one part of this matchup working in the Fever's favor. That's not enough on its own against a Liberty team riding this kind of form into a game where Indiana's best player is compromised. Both offenses are humming too: Indiana is averaging 95.9 a night and New York 90.7, and with Clark and Mitchell shouldering that kind of scoring load early while New York looks to match them, this is a game that should open up fast before Indiana's thin depth becomes the story in the second half. Take New York with the points and the first-half OVER tonight.
