Los Angeles won its opener in dramatic fashion as Chelsea Gray hit an off-balance shot in the lane at the buzzer to give the sparks a 77-76 win over the Lynx. Odyssey Sims led the Sparks with 21 points and Nneka Ogwumike added 19 points and nine rebounds and the Sparks forced 24 turnovers. Los Angeles won the game despite shooting only 3-of-18 from three-point range and that is expected to improve tonight. Indiana has lost its first two games by an average of 12.5 points, including 82-75 at Washington on Sunday and the Fever is playing its third game in four days. Natalie Achonwa led the Fever with 21 points and 12 rebounds in a losing cause against the Mystics. The Sparks have covered six of their last eight road contests dating to last season and 19 of their last 27 overall.
