Connecticut at Phoenix

Connecticut is just 4-6 on the road and a long way from home, heading out west. They wrap up a three game road trip out west here and come off a loss at Seattle, 81-79. The offense has looked tired on the trip, scoring just 79 points in each game. Phoenix (11-8) is 5-3 at home and has a winning spread record for the season, 10-8-1 ATS. They’ve had four full days to rest for this one and needed it, after a thre game road trip.  Phoenix was considered a championship contender when the season started and the club has decided to go more uptempo, starting with this game. Before their current slump, the Mercury had a six-game win streak and had reached the top spot in the Western Conference. They started the process Thursday with a trade that sent starting center Kara Braxton to the New York Liberty for reserve forward/sharpshooter Sidney Spencer.  The Mercury are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and should run the road weary visitors down, plus the Sun is 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings.
