Golden State Valkyries vs Portland Fire Point Spread Picks

Golden State went into Minneapolis five days ago and beat the best team in this league by walling off the paint and forcing the Lynx into their lowest scoring output in weeks, the kind of win that says more about who the Valkyries are than any box score from a bad matchup. That's the identity I'm betting on tonight. Golden State owns the best scoring defense in the league and takes that identity on the road with it, riding a three-game winning streak into Portland. Fire scored plenty in their last game, but that came against an Atlanta defense that's been porous all year, a different animal entirely from what's walking into their building tonight. Portland's own defense has been one of the leakier ones in the league this season, but Golden State doesn't need Portland to be good defensively to keep this total down, it needs to keep doing what it's already done to the league's most explosive offense less than a week ago. Teams riding a hot streak like this one have quietly been live for the under all season, and I like that pattern lining up with a defense this legitimate.
