Atlanta Dream vs Connecticut Sun

Atlanta ends a long three-game road trip. They traveled to the West Coast (Los Angeles and Seattle) and are now heading to the Northeast. Atlanta ranks eighth in the 13-team WNBA in field goal shooting (42%), while its defense is ninth in shooting allowed and seventh in points allowed (80.6 per game). Connecticut is fifth in free-throw shooting (79.4%) and in offensive rebounds. They come home from a two-game trek, including an 85-83 win at Indiana as a +11.5 underdog. Connecticut was putting together its best game of the season and led Minnesota 45-35 at the half, but the Lynx went on a 23-2 run in the second half and beat the Sun 76-70 on Friday. Marina Mabley led the Sun with 22 points, but Tina Charles shot just 2-for-6 and finished with four points. Atlanta took advantage of poor shooting by Dallas and beat the Wings 83-75. Dallas shot just 37 percent and missed 18 of 23 3-point tries. The Dream are 4-8 ATS the past 12 meetings with Connecticut. They have lost 11 of 14 meetings outright and seven of eight at home. Connecticut has won five of seven after its 109-91 rout of Dallas on Friday when DeWanna Bonner led six double-figure scorers with 29 points and the Sun easily covered the 6-point spread. The Sun shot 58 percent and hit 11 of 20 from 3-point range. Atlanta snapped an eight-game losing streak with an 83-81 win over Seattle and it was the Dream's first victory since June 28. The Dream are 6-13-1 ATS following an ATS win and just 4-9 ATS their past 13 home games. Connecticut is 11-5-1 ATS its past 17 Sunday games. The Sun have stayed UNDER five of seven on the road and four of five overall following an ATS win. Atlanta is 11-2 UNDER on Sundays and it has gone UNDER five straight following a win. Atlanta is out to avenge a 69-50 loss to the Sun on June 2 when the Dream shot just 28 percent and hit only three of 18 from 3-point range. Connecticut is playing a back-to-back after having to go overtime to defeat Washington 94-91 last night. The Sun also have played five of their past six games on the road and this will be their fourth game in eight days with the first three on the road. Connecticut has not covered the spread its past four games and it lost two of them outright to Las Vegas and Seattle. The Sun were favored by 11 points against Washington and barely won in overtime.
