Washington at Philadelphia

The Washington Nationals were excited that this would be their season to shine, but it has fallen well short of expectations. As a result, a visit to the postseason is not in the cards. They have had trouble swinging the bats all season, and although Stephen Strasburg has pitched admirably, he is just 6-9 because of the lack of offense. The Nats have plated 2 or fewer runs in 15 of his starts. Cole Hamels is just 6-13, for similar reasons, but he has not lost in his last six starts. Right now Philadelphia is playing better and scoring with more consistency.
