Top pick: #6 (GOLD MEGILLAH) - Last year's "Derby" winning trainer (Graham Motion) sends this colt up from Gulfstream in shape and coming off a career best last out there on the grass. Nice to see John Velazquez take the ride and he wins at a 30% clip when riding for Motion over the past 18 months.
2nd pick: #7 (Gung Ho) - Very dangerous home-bred by "Kitten's Joy" broke his maiden last year on a similar surface at Presque Isle, then won a $150K stakes on the Louisiana Downs turf five weeks later in his first facing winners. He closed out the year with an even effort from a tough post in the Breeders' Futurity (G1) at Keeneland. Working fast for this, and I almost made him the top pick.
3rd pick: #8 (Flashy Dresser) - Very tough call as he was an impressive maiden winner in his debut going 7 furlongs at Gulfstream 20 days ago. Son of "Flashy Bull" will be facing winners, going two-turns, and racing on a synthetic surface, all for the first time.
