Tennessee at Temple

A big inter-conference battle shapes up as the Tennessee Volunteers head to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Temple Owls. The Owls have always been known as a defense- first team, while the Vols prefer the open court and like to push the ball. This game is a matter of wills, and the home team often dictates the pace in such a matchup, and the Owls are going to prefer slow here. The Owls have allowed 68 points or less in six of their first eight games, and in the game played at Tennessee last season, the total fell nearly 20 points under the posted mark. The Owls get slower in the role of a dog knowing that they can't run with a quicker, athletic team resulting in 10 of their last 12 games (in the role of an underdog) falling short of the total. Dictating pace on their own court the Vols have had trouble translating that pace on the road as eight of their last nine road tilts have fallen short of the total. This one might look like an up-tempo game, but history has shown it will be anything but, so the UNDER gets the call here.
