It was his second start back from a seven week freshening and first following a Dave Cannizzo claim. Veteran gelding has beaten tougher in the past and he has Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard.
2nd pick: #6 (Uncharted Course) (7-2) - Speed/stalker is racing second back from almost an eight week break. He reared at the break here facing tougher on a sloppy surface July 31 and was never involved. Five-year-old has races in his recent past that make him a very serious win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Yakov) (6-1) - Colt has made a lot of dances over the past 20 months. He's gone 28-4-5-5 and is dropping in class and shortening up in distance. Four-year-old fits with his best and has some early speed.
4th pick: #7 (Pegasus Red) (8-1) - Stretch runner ships back from Finger Lakes where he raced evenly facing state-bred first-level allowance foes. He's slipped a bit this year, and unless he turns it around today I believe a minor award at a square price is his ceiling
