Premium Pick

Top pick: #7 (SEAL COVE) - Lightly raced and beautifully bred colt has been freshened-up by trainer "Shug" McGaughey since rallying into a slow pace to win an entry-level allowance at Belmont June 11. Home-bred by "Strong Hope" is raced by the wonderful Janney family who raced the ill-fated Ruffian 36 years ago. Grey son of "Strong Hope" is training well, can "run all day" and can win this with a late charge.

2nd pick: #2 (Sky Blazer) - Lightly raced, improving, and he has the best early speed of this group. Training fast locally for his first race since June 29 and is a win candidate with his dangerous early gear.

3rd pick: #1 (Prado Dash) - Like most of the horses sired by the late "El Prado", he's improved since moving to the grass and stretching out in distance. Has the inside post and can save all the ground before making a move turning for home.

4th pick: #6 (Golden Causeway) - He's improved noticeably since being sent around two-turns last winter at Tampa Bay and when last raced was winning a first-level allowance at Pimlico in late May. Training fast at Fair Hill and his trainer (Graham Motion) is having a strong meet. Gelding by "Giant's Causeway" is one of two entered by the barn and they'll race uncoupled.
