Milwaukee at St. Louis

A pair of teams with 4-4 records square off -- and one is too big of a favorite. Milwaukee has won four of the last six games, cashing four times as a dog. The Brewers topped St. Louis yesterday, 6-4, as the Cardinals' offense came back to earth after scoring 10 runs or more in three consecutive games. The St. Louis pitching has yet to get going, allowing 14 runs the last three games despite winning twice. This offense is not as potent as that recent outburst and the Cardinals go with fifth starter Jaime Garcia (6.00 ERA). He got knocked around by the punchless and winless Braves in his lone start, allowing five hits, four runs and three walks in six innings. The road team is 7-3 in Bill Miller's last 10 Thursday games behind home plate and this shapes up as a good spot for the big dog. Play Milwaukee.
