Result:
WIN

Western Kentucky is off to a fine start with this offense, as the only unbeaten team (2-0) in Conference USA. Their only defeat was at Indiana of the Big 10, 38-35 -- the same Hoosier team that almost upset #1 Ohio State last week. Western Kentucky has also knocked off an SEC team, winning at Vanderbilt 14-12. Western Kentucky is on a 3-1 ATS run behind dynamic QB Brandon Doughty (15 TDs, two picks), competing 74% of his passes. Doughty threw for 409 yards and four first-half touchdowns to lead Western Kentucky to a 49-10 win over Rice on Saturday. Doughty finished 28 of 38 and moved into the top 100 in NCAA for career passing yards with 9,800. They've won their last two contests by 42 and 39 points. Doughty has thrown for 400-plus yards in six of his last seven games with an average of 356 yards in the first half of the last three after having 343 against Rice. Western Kentucky is on a 4-1 ATS run at home, plus 20-8 ATS against a team with a losing record. They host Middle Tennessee State, a team on a 1-3 run with a brutal schedule, getting knocked around by the SEC (Bama, Vandy) and the Big 10 (Illinois) -- two on the road. The Blue Raiders are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 2-5 ATS in conference games. It's a revenge spot for the home team after losing at MTS last year despite 47 points and 718 yards, including 593 passing. Lay the points on Western Kentucky.
