Middle Tennessee State is working in a relatively new quarterback in junior Logan Kilgmore (3 TDs, 5 INTs, 540 yards), who saw some time last year while QB Dwight Dasher was dealing with a suspension. But he didn’t impress and this defense (28 points per game allowed) is soft. They opened against a Big 10 team a year ago and lost 24-17 to Minnesota, giving up 431 yards (281 rushing). The Purdue offensive line returns four starters and averages 6-foot-6 and 306 pounds per player. They have talented tailbacks Ralph Bolden and Akeem Shavers, giving the ground game a solid one-two punch. Bolden rushed for 935 yards and scored 11 TDs two years ago before sitting out last season with a torn ACL and was a 2009 All-Big Ten selection. Purdue posted five consecutive 200-yard rushing games last season to set a program record. Purdue's linebacking corps is as deep as it has been in years, with Dwayne Beckford, Will Lucas and Joe Holland all returning. The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall. This is a bounce-back season for the Boilermakers, who were decimated by injuries last season, so look for a huge effort in front of the home fans. Play Purdue.
