Top pick: #5 (TRIUNFO) (3-1) - Speedy gelding enters off a strong pace-pressing third place finish here at this distance July 6 facing a bit tougher. Owner/trainer Raf DeLeon brings him back quickly and drops him down a bit.

2nd pick: #8 (I've Had Enough) (15-1) - Longshot had no chance after a slow start from his rail post when debuting on June 20 at Santa Anita going a mile. Trainer Mike Pender adds blinkers, and this 3yo by "Stormin Fever" has a shot at a big price.

3rd pick: #6 (Warrensbrotherbill) (6-1) - Warren home bred moves way up in class after a trio of solid local efforts facing weaker. One run type has had traffic issues in two of those starts, and his local experience is a plus.

4th pick: #1 (Best Ransom) (6-1) - Gelding has finished second in two straight here facing a mixed field of thoroughbreds & quarter horses going 870yds at a straightaway distance. Has the rail, moves up in class, and is stretching out in distance.

5th pick: #2 (Shemp) (9-2) - Debuting colt by "Curlin'" cost $210,000, and races first out for a $20K tag. Reddam runner is trained by Doug O'Neill and must be left under consideration in an overall weak field.
