Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (GETMOTHERAROSE) (5-1) - Price play has been competitive in 10 straight starts on the grass since coming off a two-month layoff in early May of last year. Strong finisher won the local G3 Honey Fox at this distance Feb. 29, her first stakes victory. This home-bred came back with a quick five-furlong breeze at the Palm Meadows Center March 18. I like her prospects.
2nd pick: #12 (Valedictorian) (4-1) - Veteran speed/stalker tired last out to finish 5.5 lengths in back of 'Getmotherarose' Feb. 29. However, it was her first race in five months and she may have been a bit 'short.' She won this stakes last year and this 6yo mare should be involved from gate-to-wire.
3rd pick: #2 (Zofelle) (5-2) - Irish import was an ordinary runner making seven starts in England before being imported. Since coming to No. America, she's won three of four and will be making her Gulfstream debut. 4yo has no early speed and relies on a strong stretch kick in her races. A fast and/or contested pace would help her style out.
4th pick: #1 (Picara) (20-1) - Longshot has the rail and some speed to employ in her first start in two months. I believe that a minor award at a big price is her ceiling.
5th pick: #8 (East Moon) (12-1) - This home-bred mare has been on the sidelines since Nov. 9. Stalker has been working fast at the Palm Meadows Center for her return, and she could grab a share if ready with her best off the layoff.
