Georgia Southern at South Alabama

Georgia Southern presumably did the impossible last week as it won 54-0, but didn't cover the spread. Savannah State was anywhere from a 55 to 57-point underdog and came in under the number. Needless to say, the Eagles defense had a great day in holding the Tigers to 114 yards total offense and 34 net yards on the ground. However, we cannot get a sense of the Eagles offense from an opponent that had to cancel spring practice due to low academic scores. South Alabama comes off a huge upset of Mississippi State as a 28-point underdog. The Jaguars are therefore in a letdown situation after an overachievement and thus are 13-point underdogs in this game. Dallas Davis was 24-of-34 for 285 yards and the Jaguars averaged just 3.2 yards per carry. South Alabama brings back six starters on defense and it is considered to be the strength of the team. Georgia Southern has gone UNDER in its last five games after winning by 20-plus points and its last four after a straight-up win. Also, the Eagles have gone UNDER in five of their last seven road games. Georgia Southern is facing tougher competition and South Alabama is still heady following last week's big win makes this a play on the UNDER.
