Top pick: #1 (CITY BY THE BAY) (5-2) - Heavily bet when debuting on conventional dirt at Santa Rosa on July 31, she survived an early duel to draw off to a 4 1/2 length win in fast time. Pointed towards this since then, daughter of "City Zip" is working fast and draws the rail.

nd pick: #7 (Side Letter) (6-1) - She has good early speed, and has been sharp before on real dirt. Trainer Pete miller adds blinkers, and this daughter of "Henny Hughes" has been working very fast for this.

rd pick: #5 (Meinertzhageni) (4-1) - Filly by "Stormin Fever" looked good when breaking her maiden on Aug. 17th in start #2. Working fast since, and trainer Jeff Bonde had her drill on the Santa Anita dirt on Sep. 6th.

th pick: #10 (Perched) (6-1) - One of the few entered that has ability to pass other horses, and she should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into. She draws a tough outside post, and maiden needs to avoid a wide trip.

th pick: #8 (Analemma) (8-1) - She goes second off a rare claim by Bob Baffert, and tired after pressing a fast pace on Aug. 15th at Del Mar in her first for the new barn. Can factor at a big price if she handles the real dirt.
